The owners of this detached house in Stevenage asked HAL to help them with a single-storey extension at both the front and rear of their home.

At the back, the old conservatory was removed and replaced with a new extension that stretches across the width of the house. By opening up the kitchen and dining room into this new space, we’ve created a much bigger, more practical living area that opens out to the garden with bi-fold doors. The lean-to roof and rooflights bring in plenty of natural light, making the whole room feel bright and inviting.

From the outside, the new extension sits naturally with the existing part of the house behind the lounge, creating a smooth, cohesive look. This first part of the project is now complete, and work on the front extension is set to begin later this year.
