First floor house extension, Melbourn,

Permission was granted to add a first-floor dormer extension to this timber-framed building under permitted development rights. Full plans approval was also secured through an approved inspector for Building Regulations. Construction began on site on 1 February 2012 and was completed smoothly within the agreed eight-week programme.

'Having worked with Pam Stokes for many years in private practise I have total confidence in her as a talented Architect who delivers extremely competent work from initial inception of a project through to completion on site. HAL are very thorough and pay very close attention to detail, giving clear advice at each stage of a project allowing definitive client decisions to be made at the appropriate time. On Stockbridge Meadows, HAL took my initial design and instructions and produced a very credible scheme which allowed us to extend our home in the most efficient of cost effective manor resulting in a finished project that blends seamlessly with the existing house. The house really doesn't look like it has been extended at all! Technically HAL are very strong and cover all current legislation very well, again giving clear advice when it is needed. Overall we are extremely happy with our extension and the service provided by HAL and would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending them to other prospective clients.' Mr K Cooper, Melbourn.
